Hatha Yoga in Devon
One of the basic reasons many people take up yoga is to change something about themselves — to be able to think more clearly, to feel better, and to be able to act better today than they did yesterday in all areas of life. — T.V. Desikachar
If you can breathe you can do yoga
— T. Krishnamacharya
Yoga isn’t about our ego’s throwing fancy shapes and seeing how flexible one can be on the mat (though that can be fun too!).
Yoga is about your breath, mindset and mindfulness, deep awareness of your actions in everyday life, the way in which you view yourself and others, how you move and position your body with conscientiousness…
My yoga workshops and classes are built around personal growth, incorporating asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork) and meditation; nurturing and growing awareness of your body and mind connection.
Expect to witness and feel elements of shamanism combined with ancient yogic traditions in transcendent classes that focus on body and mind whilst building strength, agility, flexibility and mobility — with the intention of easing any conditions and ailments, and bringing about a deep sense of relaxation and conscious balance to your nervous system through mindful and meditative Savasana practise. (Savasana is typically practised at the end of a yoga class to allow the body and mind to integrate the prior practise and cultivate inner stillness).
I look forward to welcoming you in class.
With all my love
